LICENCE AND SAFETY

How Do You Check That a Car and Company in Istanbul Are Licensed?

Four simple checks before you book are enough: look up the company's licence number on the TÜRSAB query page, ask about the D2 certificate, ask for the price in writing, and find out who issues the invoice. None of this needs special knowledge. These are ordinary questions, and there is nothing awkward about asking them of any company.

Why Check Before You Book?

The point is not to doubt anyone, but to know who you are dealing with. Someone arriving in a new city with family and luggage wants a clear name to turn to if anything is needed. These checks take only a few minutes and work for any transport company you are considering, including us.

How Do You Look Up a TÜRSAB Licence?

TÜRSAB is the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, and every licensed agency has its own number. It runs a query page at tursab.org.tr/tr/ddsv. The page may appear in Turkish, but all you need to do is copy the licence number the company gave you and search for it.

Then compare the name that comes up with the name you are dealing with. Our parent company is Coşar Turizm Taşımacılık İnşaat ve Dış Tic. Ltd. Şti., licence number A-11345, operating since 2008. You will find these details on our licences and certificates page.

What Is the D2 Certificate, and Why Ask About It?

The D2 certificate is one of the authorisation documents for passenger transport in Turkey, so it concerns the transport itself, not only the travel agency. Ask the company whether it holds one, and do not hesitate: it is a perfectly normal question. Our company holds this certificate. Ask too which company the certificate is registered to, because that name should match the one on the invoice.

What Should a Written Price Include?

Ask for the price in a written message before you arrive, and make sure it answers these points:

  • Is the price for the whole car or per person?
  • Are tax, tolls and parking included?
  • How many minutes of free waiting, and what does it cost after that?
  • What type of car, and how many passengers and suitcases does it take?
  • What are the cancellation terms?

As an example, a fixed-price car from Istanbul Airport with Marhaba Service starts at 95 euros per car, with tax, tolls, parking and 60 minutes of waiting from the moment you land included, then 15 euros for every 30 minutes or part of it. Our cancellation terms are published.

Why Does the Invoice Matter?

The invoice is written proof of the service, the amount and the company you dealt with, and it matters especially for business trips. Ask before you book whose name it will carry. Our invoices are issued in the name of Coşar Turizm, whether you travel in a Mercedes V-Class or S-Class from the airport or with our group travel service.

What Should You Ask About the Driver?

Ask about experience and professional documents. Our drivers have at least 5 years of experience, an SRC certificate, a psychotechnical assessment and a criminal record check, and they are salaried staff. Some of them speak Arabic: ask for an Arabic speaker when you book, and we confirm in writing whether one is available on your date.

Worth knowing: guiding is a separate licensed profession in Turkey, so a driver does not stand in for a guide. If you want a guide, you will find one among our sister brands.

What Should You Check on the Day You Arrive?

Compare what you see with what the message says. In most cases that is enough:

  • The name on the sign is yours, or the name you booked under.
  • The car is the type stated in the message, and it fits your passengers and suitcases.
  • The amount asked is the amount written, unless waiting went beyond the free time.

And If the Answers Are Not Clear?

Ask again, directly: what is the licence number, what company name is on the invoice, and what is the full amount? Take your time before you decide. Whatever the company, it is better not to book until those three points are clear to you.

Keep the price message on your phone until the end of your trip. If your understanding and someone else's ever differ, the written message is the reference.
